Izzie Rose is a young and dynamic 9-year-old actress, dancer, singer and musician. Izzie has been acting for about 2 years now and her career is already taking off! Izzie is currently (Fall 2018) performing in the musical production Gypsy at Porchlight Music Theatre. Portraying the character of "Baby June", her recent performance in Gypsy has gotten rave reviews. Hedy Weiss of Chicago PBS station WTTW said, "Izzie Rose, an apple-cheeked, clarion-voiced dynamo of a tot, turns in a hilarious, cartwheel-turning performance that makes her the most convincing Baby June I've yet to see." Chicago theatre blogger Katy Walsh stated, "An effervescent Izzie Rose (Baby June) goes from a cartwheel to the splits to kicking up her leg with a delightful squeal." And Amanda Finn of Chicago theater blog site NewCityStage gushed, "Izzie Rose as Baby June and Jillian-Giselle as Baby Louise are to die for." Izzie is full of energy and spunk with the ability to take on any character and any performance challenge. She has done television and film work for the NBC hit show "Chicago PD", independent feature-length film "Disconnection Notice" and a Columbia College student-film production called "Alphasense". Izzie's other stage credentials include the "Chicago-style Nutcracker" at the Harold Washington Cultural Center and various school and camp performances including Lookingglass Theater's Summer Camp on the Lake and Mother McCauley Theater's Curtain Call. She has been dancing and singing since she was 3 years old and she has been playing the cello since she was 5. Not only is Izzie gifted in the arts, she also soars academically receiving all A's at one of the Chicago gifted "selective enrollment" schools, completing work one to two years above grade level. Izzie is the oldest of three girls and while she takes her performance responsibilities seriously she also likes having fun. She enjoys hanging out with her friends, movie nights with her family and going out to restaurants. Izzie has two items on her current "bucket list" seeing a show on Broadway and visiting Paris, France.
