Luke Martino
Actor Luke Martino has intense character player ability, boyishly handsome leading man looks and a well-manicured physique. Luke was raised in the frozen tundra of Fairbanks, Alaska. Growing up, he was the quintessential "angry young man," getting into multiple fights throughout his middle and high school years. As a result of his bad temper, he was booted out of several schools and deemed incorrigible by his disapproving school teachers. Luke's seemed headed down a very dangerous path until he became fascinated with athletics and theater (which transformed and most likely saved his life).
Luke joined the wrestling team at West Valley High School in Fairbanks, a school which boasts four state wrestling championships. He credits the difficult training, discipline to maintain his weight for competitions and focus needed to compete at such an elite wrestling program, as the beginning turning points in his life. Luke fully dedicated himself to wrestling and went on to become ranked second in the state in his weight class. He also held the state high school record for most "take downs" in the sport at over 200.
After suffering two major shoulder injuries and being diagnosed with Hodgkin's cancer during his high school years; Luke continued to compete in wrestling tournaments and eventually defeated the cancer. During his down time from injuries, he became fascinated with theater after viewing several local productions; he began dabbling in both high school and Community Theater. Upon graduating from High School Luke briefly attended the University of Alaska, Fairbanks (UAF), then moved to New York City in 2002 to act in plays and attend The New York Film Academy. After a few of years acting in plays he moved to Los Angeles in 2004 to add film roles to his growing resume.
Luke has worked on film projects with a plethora of super talented veteran Hollywood actors such as: James Remar, Sherilyn Fenn, Ray Wise, Taryn Manning and Eric Roberts. Luke recently snagged a co-starring role in "Holocaust Money", a film about the Meth-addicted grandson of two Holocaust survivors who gives their grandson an extraordinary gift that they hope leads to his redemption from drugs, (set to shoot summer 2017), featuring Kelsey Scott (12 Years a Slave, How to Get Away with Murder, Fear Of The Walking Dead: Passage, etc) and Eddie Steeples (My Name Is Earl, Raising Hope, Akeelah and The Bee, etc.).
Luke's Mother (Fluer Roberts) is a practicing attorney and his father (Ron Martino) is a Doctor of Neurology who still resides in Fairbanks, Alaska. His parent's first started dating after his dad eavesdropped as his future wife was giving her number to the mechanic to pay her bill (as both were picking up their cars from the same automotive shop). Days later, Ron called her up for a date after admitting that he wrote down Fluer's number at the shop. She agreed to go out on the date and they eventually married. In addition to Luke they had another son Matt (Luke's older brother).
Luke is slated to appear in the upcoming film "Holocaust Money," about a heroin addict who is given an extraordinary gift by his two grandparents, who were Nazi Holocaust survivors, as his last chance to redeem his life from the grips of addiction; the project (which includes Emmy Nominee Kelsey Scott -12 Years A Slave, How to Get Away with Murder and Eddie Steeples - cast member from the hit TV show - My Name is Earl) is set to start filming in the fall of 2017.
Talented fast tracker Luke Martino, has transformed himself from a brooding, unsophisticated incorrigible, Alaskan school boy into a knowledgeable and cosmopolitan artist who one day will dawn the red carpet.
