Zoe Cleland
Zoe Cleland is a Canadian Screen Award-nominated actress, writer and filmmaker. She graduated from the acting program at the National Theatre School of Canada and has worked extensively in film and television. Zoe is best known for her featured roles in Murdoch Mysteries (CBC), Reign (CW network), and for her portrayal of a young Jewel Staite in Jeremy Lalonde's indie feature How to Plan an Orgy in a Small Town. Most recently, she appeared as scene-stealing Russian minx Tatiana in CBC Gem's The Communist's Daughter, for which she received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Supporting Performance in a Web Program or Series. In 2018 she wrote, produced, co-directed and acted in a proof-of-concept episode of her original series Ace of Rods, which is now being extended and pitched. In 2020, she directed, wrote and starred in A Wounded Queen, a short experimental art film that explores themes of power, depression and sexuality. The same year, she and her co-creator Katherine Wilson launched their production company, Sweet Sorrow Productions. Zoe currently has multiple writing projects underway, and is set to direct her original short film, Blueberries for Iris, in the summer of 2022.
